If You haven’t started a skincare routine then this post will help you to get started. It can be a bit daunting picking products when there are millions of them around. One thing you have to first do, is know what type of skin you have. There are a few common ones e.g. Normal, Oily, Sensitive or a combination of any of them. When researching into skin types I came across E45 article, which advice you to blot a clean tissue on your face in the morning and check the tissue. They say if your tissue is clear that means you have a normal skin as it doesn’t have any oil or grease.
I have a combination of normal and oily skin. My T zone area and around my nose and mouth usually get oily and everywhere else on my face is normal. So when looking for products, I look for the ones that will help reduce the oily areas and maintain the normal areas of my face.
Saying this, my skin changes with the season. In the UK we are in Autumn/winter, during this time my face tends to be oily and where its normal, its dry. So my products may be the same but my routine sometimes changes and I may add other products.
I use the No7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser every morning. This is a normal/oily skin cleanser which targets both my oily and normal areas of my skin. My Clarisonic Mia 2 is the absolute best for washing the face. This leaves my face soft and glowing every morning, will definitely recommend everyone get one.
One thing I suggest, is sticking to a routine and products for your skincare. So when I run out of my No7 products, the only other brand I can use on my face is Garnier. So I use their pure active line which, helps with spots, blemishes, dark heads and oily skin. I also use these products on nights I do a deep cleanse or have ran out of my exfoliator face wash.
I mentioned before that my face changes during the seasons. So I just recently purchased this Hot cloth cleanser by No7. I purchased this to help keep my face moisturised as it seems to get dry in the normal areas of my face during winter.
I’ve been using the wrong serum and have now purchased the right one. Thinking maybe thats what makes my face dry? But with the day cream I always apply a serum as my base.
I use the early defence line as its creams are for ages 20-35. I love how No7 have skincare products for different age groups. Like i mentioned in my video, I add a few drops of Bio oil to add a lil moisture to my face, as the day cream on its own doesn’t moisturise my face well enough in winter.
I normally use my Garnier products at night, but on the nights where I do a deep cleanse I use the No7 purifying exfoliator. This targets my normal and oily areas of my skin. As its winter I decided to purchase this lip scrub by e.l.f. This is so good and I love the smell and how it leaves my lips soft.
Use whats best for you and stick to a routine and product that your face feels happy with.
